Guys:If a guy stares/looks at you often does he like you?

Theres this guy in some of my cles. When he's waiting for cl in the corridor the teacher comes from the other direction and I'm walking back from going to my locker I see him just looking/staring at me as I'm walking down , even when I see him he still looks and when I'm the other direction. In the hall sometimes I look over at him and he's facing me and looking not all the time though and some of his friends are looking but they never tease him or anything. Or when hes waiting to be collected I give him a quick look and I see him looking never smiling but neither do I. He doesn't look at me in cl or maybe once/twice .He's a quiet type of guy but can like speak out in cl he's clever too. We've only had one proper conversation before cl last week which I started first he only starts it with guys. we were standing side by side for a bit then we both turned to face each other he was focused on me listening closely I was asking him stuff he smiled abit too . I was really close to him and he like stretched or like flexed his muscles or raised his arms started to stand up straighter . He asked back a few too. He seemed really into the conversation . I was like looking up to him he was leaning in to look at me I forgot about everyone else around. None of his friends are in that cl. He does stop looking I usually look away first.
