Would life expectancy drop if you banned Alternative Medicine?

I think the absence of 'western' medicine would cause a sudden crash in average life expectancy especially infant mortality but what effect do you think removing all alternative medicines would have. People on this forum always say that medicine kills xxthousands of people and that's more than alternative medicine. I think we all accept that is true..but surely it is also true that medicine saves more people and improves quality of life to a much greater degree than it harms? It baffles me when people say it is just this awful killer. Perhaps they are lucky and have never had serious illness or injury. My mother, brother, and son all owe their lives to hospital treatment (non surgical as well as surgical) Perhaps that is a statistical anomaly but it just makes me wonder what these people are on about. I said recently that Altmed doesn't save any lives but in fairness I don't know this to be accurate for sure so I stand have that view challenged.
