Face recognition? Speech recognition? Biometric IDs?

I want algorithms or soft wares (preferably open source) which can recognize either face or speech or other biometric ids. I personally don't wants to develop the system fully. I just want an input to the system that i am developing now so that it can take decisions. if u have any idea regarding this or the location in web where the information will be available please share it with me.
